Well, we've officially become one of them. You know, those people who are really excited to have a blog and then go an entire month (or in the case of a friend of ours, two years) without updating their blog. So here is an update for those who have been waiting patiently. It will be a hodgpodge of events, pictures, etc. since there is so much to talk about.

First things first, congratulations to JNT and family.

Second things second, we went to Georgia. Not many pictures because, well, the weather left much to be desired. So we were limited to taking pictures of Haley hanging out with our cousin Chris's dog, Max.

Both dogs got along great.

Thanks to my Uncle Jim, I got the opportunity to fish Lake Lanier on two occasions which is always a bonus. It's usually a lot of fun, but with the screwy weather (specifically a high pressure system, yes that sounds contradictory to screwy weather not in the fishing world) the fish decided not to bite. It's ok, it is always fun to get out on that lake. Like Uncle Jim says, "best time to go fishin is when you can".


Alright, so while in Georgia, Haley decided to wonder around the grandparent's house. While I was sitting downstairs enjoying a Braves game with Pop, I hear some ferocious barking going on upstairs. Automatically assuming a squirrl or bat has made its way into the house, I run upstairs to apprehend the creature before Haley does. I make it to the top of the stairs not to find a little rodent harassing my dog, but a doll staring menacingly at her from atop one of the two twin beds. Do not worry, Haley secured the premises and made sure the doll stayed on top of the bed all day long, all night long, and all week long. She was relentless.


Just recently Jenn and I took on another short term foster lab. His name was Johnny which is a dumb name for a dog so we called him "Booger". We attempted to call him other things but he really liked this name so well. He's gone to another foster now, Jenn and I got really attached to him while he was here, but who doesn't get attached to a 3 month old puppy within 24 hours.

He was set to be euthanized at the end of last week so we agreed to take him from the shelter until a more permanent home could be found. He'll make someone a wonderful dog.

Yes he's wearing a pink collar. It's all we had. I tried to talk Jenn out of it but she says "real men wear pink."


Well, Germany is one month away! We have pretty much planned for everything we can from over here. There's still some hotel planning that we will have to get done, but we'll likely do that while we're over there and our itinerary is finalized. We intend on visitng Munich for a night or two which will include stopping at a number of castles, Dachau Concentration Camp, and sampling tasty German beer at the Hofbrauhouse. From there it's on to Switzerland for 3 days and then back to Kaiserslautern. From K-town we'll take day trips to Trier, France; Heidleberg; Nuremburg; and the Black Forest. We're very excited.
