Haley's Kingdom

Our dog Haley loves to sit in front of the windows on the second floor (<-- that photo was actually taken on the first floor but just use your imagination) of our house because it provides her the perfect vantage point to oversee her kingdom.

Occasionally she will come down from her perch high atop the castle walls to mingle with her imaginary peasants outside ensuring that her territory is up to her standards. Often times it will take her a few moments of sitting among her imaginary subjects to determine that all is well and good in Haleyland. The following photos provide a rare and unique glimpse into her sitting in the middle of her "land" pondering what lies beyond her castle walls. I say "rare" and "unique" because the moment she hears the camera "click" or "beep" she freaks out and begins barking like mad, which was captured in a previous post.

It is not unusual for her to sit outside for 5-15 minutes just pondering alone all by herself. To break her deep thoughts she often has to be enticed by a treat and informed that I am not going to keep the back door open to heat the neighborhood while she continues to "think", and that any such "thinking" may be done indoors sitting on her "throne".
